There's a sign in the window of Rickybobby this week announcing that the restaurant at 400 Haight Street is closed until next Tuesday. What gives?

We spoke with co-owner James Moisey yesterday, who explained that Rickybobby is undergoing a "retooling." That's not referring to the menu, which will be staying more or less the same. Rather, James and co-owner Shane LaValley are planning to expand dinner service to seven days a week from the current five. To do that, they need to expand their staff, so they're hiring for both the front and back of house. If you're interested/qualified, check out this job posting. In addition to the week-round service, Rickybobby will begin staying open later on Friday and Saturday nights. They experimented by keeping the doors open until 1am last weekend, but got few customers -- presumably because no one was aware of their late-night service yet. James said they don't have an exact timeframe for when service will expand to 7 days a week, as it will take a few weeks to hire and train the needed staff.
