Lower Haight Weekend PlannerSunday Streets
Here it is -- the first weekend of the rest of your life. And it's going to be a great one. Here's why.

Tonight, Rare Device hosts the opening reception for "Words I Didn't Know." The exhibit features illustrated prints by former adwoman turned greeting card designer Emily McDowell. Tonight's reception runs from 6pm to 8pm at Rare Device, 600 Divisadero. Tomorrow, of course, it's the Lower Haight Art Walk. From 5pm to 9pm (and later), the neighborhood will be abuzz with all sorts of art openings, discounts, music and more. Check out the Facebook page for the full details. Then, walk on over to Underground SF for the monthly extravaganza that is "Push the Feeling." Residents Epicsauce DJs and YR SKULL are joined by local trio Exray's and Berkeley-based Yalls, both performing live sets. The fun runs from 9pm to 2am, it's 21+, and will cost you $6 at the door (but it's free before 10pm with your RSVP). On Sunday, venture slightly north for Sunday Streets: Western Addition edition. The route runs south on Fillmore from Geary to Fulton, then west on Fulton to Baker, then south a block to Grove, then west on Grove to Central, then south to Fell. (Hope we didn't overload your mental map there.) All those streets will be closed to traffic, and filled with activities for kids and adults alike. The event is slated for 11am to 4pm. Finally, here are trio of pleasures that opened on Wednesday which are worth your weekend attention. A new exhibit called "30 Love," featuring photographs by Lisa Wiseman, went up at 4x5 Gallery (442 Haight). That same night, Mexican restaurant and bar La Urbana opened at 661 Divisadero. And on Fillmore, the group show "Confluence" debuted at Fifty24SF. All certainly good uses of your leisure time. Of course, if you'd prefer to just spend your Sunday watching football, we're sure any of the local bars will be happy to accommodate you. Anything else going on in the neighborhood this weekend? Let us know in the comments.
