LUX SF, the new nail salon at 490 Hayes we told you about back in April, officially opened its doors this week -- this Tuesday, in fact.
We caught up with owner Tracy Brown to see how his first week in the neighborhood was treating him.
"The response [from the community] has been great," Tracy told us. "We've been getting a lot of walk-in customers, which is great."
Tracy himself is thrilled to be in Hayes Valley.
"[When we were looking for a location], I never thought being in Hayes Valley would be a possibility."
LUX SF's opening, though, took a little longer than originally expected. Tracy had originally hoped to be open by June; he says that permitting complications from the city caused the 3-month delay.
Regardless, LUX SF is now ready for customers. For the month of September, patrons will receive $5 off each of their treatments. While walk-ins are welcome, Tracy suggests making an appointment to "get the full experience."
