A new chicken restaurant will soon be coming to Market Street, courtesy of Straw owner Ari Feingold.
Eater and Inside Scoop reported this week that the restaurant, named "Proposition Chicken," will be taking over the former Yum Foods space at 1750 Market Street, between Octavia and Gough. Feingold is teaming up with former Luella chef Ben de Vries to create a menu catering to chicken lovers of all types -- even those who don't eat chicken. According to Eater, you'll be able to get your chicken fried, flipped (rotisserie), or fake (crispy tofu), and in the form of a sandwich, salad, or "on the bone." There will even be a gluten-free fried chicken option. Feingold says that the restaurant will use free-range chicken and high-quality ingredients, with all dishes made in-house. Expect Proposition Chicken to be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, starting October 8th.
