Maybe it's because it's Friday the 13th, but tonight's going to be an especially weird one in the neighborhood.

First up, at 6pm swing by the corner of Haight and Laguna and partake in the funeral for the Silly Pink Bunny statue. Jeremy Fish, a trumpeter, and various bigwigs will be on hand to pay respects to the bunny as it's demolished to make way for the 55 Laguna development. Also, plans will be revealed for the bunny 2.0, a 10-foot-tall bronze version which will supposedly become a permanent addition at the location. Once you've worked up a good hunger from all that mourning, fire up your Uber app and summon... the Tamale Lady? Yes, Virginia Ramos will be Ubering around the Lower Haight and the Mission from 8pm onward, delivering free tamales on demand. It's a promotion both for Uber and for Ramos, who is trying to to open her own brick-and-mortar restaurant. Just look for the Tamale Lady icon on your Uber app tonight and get Virginia's tamales delivered to you, while supplies last. Just another strange night in the Lower Haight.
