The convergence of Burning Man, Labor Day, and the Bay Bridge closure is making this one spectacularly quiet weekend in San Francisco.
But that doesn't mean there's no fun to be had in the city tonight.
For example, local event space The Convent (on Fillmore between Oak and Fell) will be hosting a music-fueled tea/dance party this evening. Enjoy the beats of Canadian electronic artist Born Gold, in one of his first stops on a house show tour across North America. Also on the bill is Oakland-based producer Glenn Jackson, and epicsauce DJs of "Push the Feeling" fame. Keeping this event classy, expect tea, cookies, pie, and "other beverages." Which means they probably can't serve booze. But you can have fun without booze, you know. Tonight's party runs from 7:30 - 11pm, with a suggested donation of $5-$10.
