In two separate incidents the past two evenings, pedestrians were robbed at gunpoint near the intersection of Page and Franklin Streets.
The first mugging was reported on Monday night at 8:48pm. According to an SFPD summary, a man and woman in their early twenties were walking down the street when a man ran up behind them and grabbed the woman's purse. The victims fought with the suspect, who then pulled out a handgun and demanded their property. The victims complied, and the suspect ran to a waiting car and fled the scene. The next night, at roughly the same time (8:09pm), a 30-year-old woman was walking at the same intersection when she was approached by a man who pointed a handgun at her and demanded her cell phone and money. The victim gave her phone to the suspect, who then fled on foot. We don't know if these two crimes are related, and neither suspect has been caught to our knowledge. If we get any more information we will update this story.
