The northeast corner of Hayes and Laguna, currently home to the Hayes & Kebab patio / parking lot, could soon be the site of a new building.
Plans are underway to demolish the building housing Hayes & Kebab (and its parking lot) and construct a 5-story mixed-use development, with retail on the ground floor, 4 floors with 29 residential units above, and a level of underground parking. Hayeswire reader Tracey T. alerted us to the project a couple of weeks ago, when she received a notice about a planned community meeting:

That meeting occurs tonight. At 6pm, architect Mitchell Sternberg of Sternberg Benjamin will present the firm's plans for the project -- including drawings -- and answer questions from residents. The meeting will take place at the Hamilton Rec Center at 1900 Geary (at Steiner). All nearby neighbors are welcome to attend.@hayeswire got a notice for pre application meeting on a new 5 story condo next to Hayes & Kebab. Know anything about it?
