One of the Castro's hot condo buildings popping up at the very edge of the neighborhood along Market Street is nearly ready. The brand spanking new 38 Dolores build -- 82 apartments slapped on top of 30,000 square foot of retail space housing a new Whole Foods chain grocer -- is pulling back the curtains and letting the world see what's been going on underneath those builder tarps. This full exterior reveal follows the partial, mini sneak peek of the interior kitchen and bathroom shots of an average unit published last month.
In all, according to specs, there will be six studios, about 20 one-bedrooms, four three-bedrooms, with the rest being two-bedrooms in what developers have anointed as 'an exclusive' place to call home. Building amenities include a green roof, on-site car share and bicycle parking, and the building's slated for LEED Gold certification. The price point list for each unit remains under wraps, but for more info on the soon to be ready to rent Market Street residence -- self-described as being at the crossroads of 'everything' -- you can hit the 38 Dolores website here.
Curbed SF broke the story and provided these images to tantalize the would be tenant. In truth the exterior follows the vanilla motif currently dominating new builds throughout the Castro and City in general: boxy, vaguely modern and doused in utilitarian niceties.
Judge for yourself.
