Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Hayes ValleyFacebook/recompose
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at least a couple of local businesses are raising awareness -- and money -- for the cause.

La Boulange (500 Hayes) has introduced a pink box of macarons which they'll be selling all month long. One dollar from the purchase of each box will go to the Bright Pink Organization, a non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer. Meanwhile, The Dailey Method, a barre exercise studio at 1853 Market (between Octavia and Laguna), is holding special classes this Saturday, October 12th. At 9:45am and 11am, the studio will host one-hour classes with 100% of proceeds going to Bright Pink and the To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation. They'll also be donating proceeds from the sale of pink socks and tanktops throughout October. If you know of other businesses or groups in the neighborhood that are participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, let us know in the comments.
