All Hail the Queen: Juanita MORE! Booty Call Wednesday Turns 6Booty Call Wed. Turns 6
Booty Call Wed. Turns 6 Juantia MORE! is one of the hardest working souls in SF clubland. She's a DJ, club promoter, performer/ personality, photographer, art director, designer, tireless charity/non-profit fundraiser and --let's face it-- a living force of nature. Her Castro event, Booty Call Wednesday (BCW), held weekly at QBarSF (456 Castro St.) and co-produced by the ubiquitous, Joshua J is turning six tonight. The Biscuit thought it'd be a good idea to do a quick catch up with Miss MORE! before the party got out of control. Castro Biscuit: Do you remember your first night of BCW? Juanita MORE!: I do remember our first night at Booty Call Wednesdays - and the reason I remember it so well was because besides my hosting and DJ duties I was the photographer in the back room! CB: How do you keep Booty fresh after 6 years? JM!: Josh and I keep it fresh by always including our favorite DJ's, inviting great artists and friends to design the photo booth art installation and the most interesting gogo's in the Castro - we love all sizes, colors and genders!

CB: Who were some of your fave guests DJ's? JM!: We have had so many amazing DJ's play for us on Wednesday nights. There have been some notable celebrity DJ's as well as some first timers that have turned us out. The bottom line for me is the music. When this party started you only heard one sound in the Castro - and that was pop. I'm a San Francisco disco baby who grew up loving house music. So I hope we've helped to create a different sound in the middle of the week. CB: Your photo booth is a wildly popular element to the clubs vibe.  JM!: Over the last 6 years we have had three steady photographers - Brandon Norris, MOREboy Isaac and this year we've brought on Cabure / Shot In The City who has to be the hardest working photographer in San Francisco. I'm a lot of things - but art director is up at the top. I couldn't be more thankful to have such amazing guys to work with. They all love making me look good. CB: What excites you most every Wednesday as the time for BCW approaches? JM!: I think in the past 6 years I've missed two nights. And that was because I was working in another city. I love BCW. If there are only 100 people there as opposed to 500 I'm still happy. Every single week I meet someone new. Someone visiting from another country or someone that has just moved to San Francisco. That's what makes me happy. And, that's what keeps me keeping this party alive. The people that take the time to lean into the DJ booth and say hi to me and the ones that wait so patiently to take a picture with me.

CB: What will you be wearing tomorrow? JM!: I love that you've asked what I'll be wearing tomorrow. I pride myself on not wearing the same thing twice. But tomorrow I am pulling out a gem - sparkles just perfect for the occasion. The BCW anniversary soiree will kick off at QBAR at 9PM. Vin Sol & matrixxman will be on the decks, back drop designed by Mercedez MunroShot In The City will be snapping pix, Joshua J plans on brushing his mustache across your face when he passes your way and, as always, Juanita More will be turning it out and turning heads. As 2013 draws to a close look for two rather unique JM! upcoming events - a Christmas Tamale Night and a very Fellini New Years Eve.
