Architecture Exhibit At Proxy This Weekend
When you think of the Proxy space at Octavia and Hayes, you might think of coffee, ice cream, food trucks or fresh-squeezed juice. But this weekend the site will host something entirely different: an architecture exhibit.

Tonight and tomorrow, swing by Proxy and check out A Planned Disappearance Of..., a free exhibit focusing on temporary structures. Beginning at 6pm tonight, a dozen speakers, performers, and installations will be addressing the design of "non-places" and the materials and technologies used to build temporary structures like those at Proxy. On hand will be reps from CCA, various design studios, the SF Planning Department, and envelope A+D, the firm behind Proxy itself. Then tomorrow at noon, a sound installation by artists Shane Myrbeck and Emily Shisko will be unveiled at the site. Finally, at 6pm, DJs from the collective Dublab will provide ambient music, and artist Andrew Atwood will reveal a project called "Whites and Lights." Like everything at Proxy, this exhibit is very temporary. So if you're interested in modular architecture, or just want to check out some neat music and light installations, head on down to Octavia this weekend.
