Here's the skinny on how to join, or avoid, SantaCon.
It starts at noon on Saturday in Union Square. After they do all the toy-donation stuff, Head Santa will wend his way through the city with his minions in tow. You can find him with #sfsanta on twitter (or follow @sfsanta). By 3pm, they'll be at Duboce Park for a snowball fight. At 4pm, the official festivities are over and the afterparties (bar crawl) begins. Officially, the only Upper Haight bar participating is Hobson's Choice, but you can see all the other locations here. The Santacon website strongly encourages good behavior and general non-douchebaggery, but the 'hood has definitely gotten hairy in the past. If you happen to be at Hobson's, send us photos!
