Homeless Youth Alliance in the Media
HYA's doing whatever it takes to stay in their current space. Here's the latest.

We told you last month that the Homeless Youth Alliance was being evicted from their current space to make way for a restaurant. Since then, a petition on MoveOn.org was created to keep them in the space. They're looking for 3,000 signatures, and they're up to 2,328. If they get the rest, the petition will be delivered to London Breed, Supervisor Haight area is District 5, David Campos, Supervisor, John Avalos, Supervisor, mayor Ed Lee, Mayor, Megan Owens, San Francisco Local Homeless Coordinating Board Policy Analyst, SF Examiner, SF Examiner, and San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Chronicle. Also, the Examiner posted an article about the center's closing this morning wherein they spoke with Bevan Dufty, the point man on homelessness for Mayor Ed Lee, who said that the office has been working to help the center find other housing in the neighborhood. In the meantime, HYA's director Mary Howe is still trying to figure out how to take their services mobile.
