Lower Haight Leftovers: 12/19
Leftovers on a Thursday? It must be a pre-Christmas miracle.

Here are a few news bites for your almost-the-weekend reading pleasure.
Curbed has a quick update on Lee's Meats / Popular Market. Regular readers will recall a couple of years ago when plans were explored to demolish the building at 478 Haight and replace it with a 4-story elderly care facility with ground floor retail. Curbed updates that those plans took a step forward this year, with an environmental review now in the works. It's still early, but it looks like this project could actually be happening.
Speaking of Curbed, the Lower Haight is back in this year's Curbed Cup competition. We've won for two years in a row -- will we make it three?
Chaparral, the new evening pop-up restaurant at Kate's Kitchen, got some love via a very positive review in the Examiner this week.
As expected, Greenburger's has now officially applied for a beer and wine license.
Finally, did you miss the Wing Wings Chicken Eating Contest at El Rio this past Saturday? If so, check out this video recap:
That's all for today, gang.
