One month ago, Moishe's Pippic closed after 26 years in business at 425A Hayes. Now we've discovered what will be taking its place.
Jocelyn Bulow and David Alexander, co-owners of Chez Maman across the street, are opening a new restaurant at the location, according to a friend who is helping them with the buildout. A recent job posting which we believe to be for the restaurant indicates that it will be an "oyster bar, sea food bistro." We've contacted Jocelyn and David and are awaiting more information. Crews have been working to transform the space since Moishe's closed. Permits have been filed to install an exhaust hood and a new service counter, while Moishe's yellow awning has been removed. The 2nd floor also now features four windows, where before there were none. No word yet on a name for the new restaurant or a potential opening date, but we'll share more details as we get them!
