The Haight Street Market has quietly launched its own wine label.
Established legally in the fall of 2012, Varda Vineyards is a winery owned by the family Vardakastanis, also known as Gus, Georgia, Bobby and Dmitri. Dmitri Vardakastanis is legally named the director of Varda Vineyards.
Their first offerings are 850 cases (!) of Sonoma merlot and syrah, grown from the family's vines in Carneros, Sonoma.
Both wines are being offered for $14.99, with a 10% discount for 4 or more bottles.
