So you're coming down from your sweet State of the Union high, and the weekend's still a good two days away. What to do with your Wednesday? Here are three options.
In the morning, why not swing by Danny Coyle's or Mad Dog in the Fog and catch some of the English Premier Leaguesoccer football action? Starting at 11:45am, both bars will be streaming live coverage of 4 different matches, including teams like Chelsea and Manchester City. If you don't know much about English football, as we don't, here's your chance to learn.
In the afternoon, head to 4x5 Gallery and check out their latest exhibit, Motion Studies -- a collection of photographs by Ari Salomon. "Motion and time are rendered visible, graphically revealing the latent rhythms and patterns of the material world while tracing the camera’s navigation through it." The gallery at 442 Haight is open today until 6pm; the show is up through March 2nd.
And at night, a local sci-fi author named David Kraine is hosting a release party for his new series, The Plague. The series includes both e-books and comic books "set in the distant future, where every species is given a single vote to coordinate its existence." Tonight's release party takes place at Vinyl (359 Divisadero) starting at 7pm.
So there you go -- three options for muddling through your midweek without leaving the neighborhood. Have a good one.
