Tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am to 2pm, there's an MLK Family Fun Day at Ella Hill Hutch (1050 McAllister, between Buchanan and Webster). There will be family games, food, prizes, and Zumba. The event is free and open to the public. On Sunday, the SF Public Library is hosting a Black Author Readathon. You can listen to readings of works by famous black authors, or participate by reading a favorite quote of your own. This will take place from 1pm to 3pm on the third floor of the library at Larkin and Grove. The MLK holiday itself is now commonly marked as a day of service, and this Monday is no exception. From 10am to 1pm, Koshland Park at Page and Buchanan will be the site some community gardening. Wear comfortable clothes, bring your own water, and help your neighbors plant, clean, compost and more. Juice and snacks will be provided. Meanhwhile, the African American Art and Culture Complex at 762 Fulton (at Webster) will be hosting its own day of service.
