A post on Craigslist reveals that barbecue-style food may be on its way back to the Castro. The post, New Restaurant - Need Consultant Chef, posted in the Food/Beverage/Hospitality jobs section of Craigslist for the Castro area is looking for a consultant chef to help create a menu for a new "SUMMER BACKYARD BBQ" style restaurant. The post has a deluge of photos lifted from The GQ Guide to Backyard Barbecues in case the jobseeker is wondering what kind of scene the new owners are hoping to recreate at their new restaurant.

New Restaurant Opening:  We are opening a new restaurant - it will be inspired by the "SUMMER BACKYARD BBQ". Imagine the fun times you had drinking, eating at your friend's bbq. We want to bring that to the Castro: it will be fun, casual, friendly, approachable yet adventurous with bbq'd dishes - salads, meats, fish, grilled fruits, etc. Food will be imaginative, interesting, cute and KICK ass. Drinks will be refreshing, wild, creative and AWESOME. Vibe will be laid back - hey it's a bbq! Central theme to the food / drinks will be: - simple - good ingredients - deconstructed - natural Consultant Chef  Requirements: Experience opening new restaurants Experience creating new menus Will need to do a tasting for the owners Duties: Create menu Train employees Recipe book Occasional follow up Possible seasonal return to update menu
There was some interior refinishing activity a couple of weeks ago at the old Blue Restaurant location (2337 Market Street) so perhaps we'll see the new restaurant move in there? We're thinking this place may already have a space that is larger than Blue and perhaps with a back patio area. We'll let you know when we hear more!
