Maker & Moss Wants To Be Your Valentine

Maker & Moss Wants To Be Your Valentine

If you haven't had a chance to visit Hayes Valley's new home goods store Maker & Moss yet, you might want to swing by this Wednesday. You may never want to leave.

The shop, which we previewed back in August, is hosting a Valentine’s Day party this Wednesday from 5pm - 7pm with champagne, chocolate, and a 15% off storewide sale. Get there early because a little champagne might be just the nudge we need to clean out the store.
Inspired by the elements in nature, Maker & Moss's walls are lined with local artisans' crafts that are delightful yet functional. From concrete stools made with leaf prints from local trees to mirrors framed in reclaimed wood to recycled glass wine glasses, the collection embodies the ideal doses of earthiness and modernity to draw mass appeal.
"Every piece has a story," says co-manager Brodie Silva, "and we always try to share those stories with our customers.” He tells us how he discovered the store's walnut bud vases on a recent trip to Austin, for example. Our personal favorites are the topographical 3D birch wood maps of shorelines around the country by David and Audrie. From the SF Bay Area to Tahoe, Hawaii, Cape Cod, the Great Lakes, and more, these could feel like comforting slivers of home wherever you are.
Maker and Moss is located at 364 Hayes, between Gough and Franklin. It's open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm, and Sunday from noon until 5pm.
