You don’t have any plans yet, you’re getting the FOMO itch, and you’re in the mood to do something that combines your unique love for the legislative process and wearing apparel from OBEY? We have the night for you.
There are two events happening on Hayes Street this evening. Here are some things you should consider checking: O IS FOR OBEY [Azalea Boutique] Azalea (411 Hayes) is hosting a party tonight at their store from 6-8pm called “O is for Obey / A is for Azalea.” U is for who’s invited and F is for free which is one of our favorite words. They’re bringing in some folks from Obey Clothing who will be “laying down the smoothest of jams, drinking the finest of libations and hanging with everyone.” Azalea, a clothing store that’s been on Hayes Street for over 10 years, will be offering a special giveaway with purchases. Tickets are free, but they’d love to get an idea of how many people they’re expecting. 2014-2015 HVNA ELECTIONS [Hayes Valley Playground] The Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association (HVNA) has its monthly meeting tonight and this one is big. The group will be holding elections for the 2014-2015 board, the group of individuals who lead meetings and multiple initiatives within the organization and neighborhood. Along with elections, this month's focus will be on issues affecting Hayes Valley. Rather than having presentations from board members and people complaining or venting, there will be individual tables based on topics and the emphasis will be coming up with creative solutions. According to the HVNA blog, the 7 topics are: homeless issues, parks & greening, property crime, new development issues, traffic, the arts, and small businesses. The meeting takes place at the Hayes Valley Playground (699 Hayes) from 7-8:30pm.
