This Thursday, March 6 is your chance to drink beer at the Booksmith and hear dramatic readings of foul-minded, sexy reinterpretations of classic fiction.
This is the Booksmith's very own favorite event, in which a work of fiction (in this case The Wind in the Willows) is bastardized in the poorest taste by six local writers with the worst intentions. Shipwreck, a fanfiction series launched by the Booksmith last summer, is a ticketed event. $10 gets you as much beer as you want and entry to a room packed full of people with odd tastes and a flair for the reprehensible. For those of you who get tickets early (link above), you'll be entered in a raffle to win a free copy of a newly illustrated edition of Kenneth Grahame's classic, with drawings by David Roberts. (Disclaimer: we also work at the Booksmith, so we're predisposed to think it's a lot of fun.)
