Our monthly Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association (HVNA) meeting is tonight and their theme would make Captain Planet proud.
The newly elected 2014-2015 HVNA board is excited to kick of their year with tonight's theme: Greening in Hayes Valley.
The meeting will begin with a short presentation by Friends of the Urban Forest, a San Francisco organization that helps "individuals and neighborhood groups plant and care for street trees and sidewalk gardens in San Francisco." A representative will also share where the city's urban forestry policies are heading.
After the presentation, it's time for a Round Table. Not the pizza. More like where a bunch of smart people from different groups are available to answer your questions.
(But pizza never hurts)
The open discussion will take place with the following individuals focused on specific areas:
Steve Cismowski, Recreation and Parks Department (Parks)
Jessica Look, SF Planning Department (Living alleys)
Chris Buck, SF Public Works (Street trees and sidewalk landscaping)
Jay Rosenberg, 49 Farms, co-creator of Hayes Valley Farm (Urban agriculture)
Jean Walsh, SF Public Utilities Commission (Storm water)
Tonight's meeting takes place at the Hayes Valley Playground Clubhouse (699 Hayes) and begins at 7pm. See you there!
