Girls on the Run is a San Francisco non-profit organization dedicated to building confidence in the lives of young women. Tonight, they need our help.
The organization is holding an awareness and fundraising event this evening from 5:45pm-9:00pm at Alternative Apparel (424 Hayes). There will be a variety of activities taking place throughout the night, including:

- "Very chill and non-sweaty" yoga provided by Moxie Yoga (it's BYOM: Bring Your Own Mat)
- Beer and cocktails provided by Fort Point Beer Company and Distillery 209
- Small bites provided by Green Hearts and KitchIt
- Silent auction with items donated by Naked Wines, Green Apple Books, and a few other local San Francisco businesses
"We partnered with Alternative Apparel because they do a lot of community events and want people to use their store as a form of community engagement in the neighborhood" she said. "They have been super awesome. Eric, their president, has been really supportive of Girls on the Run, and their mission of having balance and an alternative lifestyle lines up perfectly with ours."

The San Francisco chapter of Girls on the Run was founded in 2002, the same year the national organization was formed. During their first year, they provided guidance for 5 girls. Today, they see over 500 girls participate in their programs.

From their website:
Girls on the Run of the Bay Area provides an innovative running program for girls ages 8 to 13 that uses experiential learning to teach very specific and well-defined social and personal skills. The program culminates in a non-competitive community running event that gives the girls a chance to shine and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
Stop by Alternative Apparel tonight anytime between 5:45pm-9:00pm to check out the event and help support Girls on the Run. Tickets are $40 but higher priced ones ($50-75) include an Alternative Apparel sweatshirt. Everything was donated for the fundraiser so 100% of the revenue goes directly to programming for the organization.
UPDATE (10:25am): And here's the link so you can purchase tickets.
