We have a lot to recap from this past week in Hayes Valley. Whether it's highlighting prior events or discussing things we didn't get a chance to share, read on to get the scoop.
URBAN AIR MARKET
The Urban Air Market takes place today from 11am-6pm. There will be over 130 tables set up around Patricia's Green and a few neighboring streets for Hayes Valley's largest street festival. The 10th anniversary edition includes vendors selling sustainably designed products, along with live musical and artistic performances. For more information, check out their website or our post from a few days ago.

INTERVIEW WITH @UPPITYFAG
This week we met with Patrick Connors, a 13-year resident of Hayes Valley and an award-winning Twitter-er. He shared his opinions on what he likes most about the neighborhood (hint: it's outside), what drives him crazy (hint: it's a group of people), and his real feelings about gentrification and luxury condos. For all the juicy details, check it out here.
ZIO ZIEGLER MURAL IN LINDEN ALLEY
Last weekend, a new mural was painted on the wall across from Blue Bottle and Dark Garden ... in 6 hours. We can't even do a few loads of laundry in that time. Stop by to check out artist Zio Ziegler's impressive piece sponsored by the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association. They want to do more, so if you own a wall in Hayes Valley, reach out to them at art {at} hayesvalleysf {dot} org.
MOTHER'S DAY AT ABSINTHE
Does your mom live in San Francisco? Or maybe she's coming to visit? If so, Absinthe Brasserie & Bar is offering a Mother's Day special next Sunday, May 11. Bar Manager Jared Schmidt is serving the "Mother's Little Helper" cocktail which consists of Jardesca Aperitiva, Hangar One Kaffir Lime Vodka, and honey ($12). Executive Chef Adam Keough is offering 3 different meal specials: white corn Dungeness crab fritters ($15), porcini mushroom and asparagus tart ($18), and profiteroles with strawberry ice cream and cocoa caramel ($11). Bon appétit, Mom.
gather OPENED THIS WEEKEND
Daisy and Christian McClellan opened the doors to their new shop yesterday. Self-described as a place "to discover innovative indie artists and makers, including dozens from the Bay area," the McClellans are selling a curated selection of clothing, home goods, and gifts. Expect workshops, trunk shows, and seasonal gatherings to be featured at the store in the near future. Stop by at 541 Octavia to check them out. They're open Sunday (11am-6pm) and Monday-Saturday (11am-7pm).
Now go outside and head over to the Urban Air Market. And since we can only say this today, May the Fourth be with you.
