With a fitful summer making its arrival, it's time for a weekend primer of things happening in Golden Gate Park that aren't Bay to Breakers. (Don't worry, you still have a solid week before that happens.)

First: Oysterfest. That's right, Oysterfest. Saturday, May 10 at Sharon Meadow (seen above last year and below during setup) is a concert featuring Edward Sharpe + the Magnetic Zeros, Poolside, Ra Ra Riot, and Crash. Tickets are $39 and benefit Advokids, a California foster child advocacy program. There will be music, oysters, and fun.
Then, paper and history freaks rejoice! The de Young, open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9am-5:15 pm, is announcing the arrival of local artist Lexa Walsh from now until June 1st. You can visit Lexa at the Kimball Education Gallery Wednesdays through Saturdays from 1pm-5pm, where she's working on Mapping the Archive, an interdisciplinary collation of Bay Area archives and archival processes over the last 50 years.
Last but not least, the Conservatory of Flowers continues this weekend to showcase CHOMP!, an exhibit of swampy carnivorous plants. Tickets to the Conservatory are $5 for city residents, and it's open Tuesday through Sunday, 10am-4:30 pm.
Whatever you choose to do this weekend, we hope you have fun doing it.
