The San Francisco Bay Guardian is hosting a community forum on transportation tomorrow evening, June 12th, from 6-8PM at the San Francisco LGBT Center (1800 Market Street). The forum is called, "Bikes, Buses, & Budgets: How to create the transportation system San Franciscans needs." If you're keen on learning more about transportation issues that affect how people get around in our city, this would be a good event to attend. A panel of key experts and activists will be discussing transportation funding measures recently placed on the fall ballot, big ideas such as tearing down I-280 and making a Bay Bridge deck for bikes and buses, and the gap between political rhetoric and realities on the street. Panelists include:
- District 8 Supervisor Scott Wiener
- SF Bike Coalition community organizer Chema Hernández Gil
- Jason Henderson, an urban geography professor at SFSU who writes the Guardian’s monthly Street Fight column
- and a few others that have not yet been announced
