It's still a week away, but we know about a free musical event you might want to add to your calendar.
The Neighborhood Performance Project is debuting with their first performance of the season next Sunday at McRoskey Mattress Company.

Described as an organization that presents chamber music ensembles to neighborhood venues, the goal of the group is to "produce exciting performances that are accessible and affordable to the diverse population of the Bay Area." Essentially, they're a group of musicians that like chamber music and want everyone to experience it without worrying about dressing up or paying high costs.

Next Sunday's performance features the Musical Art Quintet, a string quintet that will perform "Latin jazz inspired compositions by bassist Sascha Jacobsen as well as works by Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, and Tito Puente."

The show takes place between 5pm-6:30pm on the third floor gallery of McRoskey's (located at the corner of Market and Gough). There's no cost for admission, but they will gladly accept any donations.
