Get out the glitter: there's a lot going on in the 'hood this weekend.

If you're out of bed bright and early this morning, there's an Alvord Lake cleanup. While it isn't strictly for Pride, that doesn't mean you can't wear some rainbows. It's from 9am-12pm, rain or shine, with refreshments provided by McDonald's. Look for the SF Rec & Park vehicle to find the group. If you can pledge some time, call Susan at (415) 861-3195, or respond to this NextDoor thread.
Next up, there's a lost dog out there. Her name is Lua, and she disappeared in Buena Vista Park on Thursday. She's skittish and fast, so talk calmly if you spot her. Here's what she looks like:
If you spot her, contact Ryan Kushner here.
Tonight, you've got three choices.
First, Lizzo, a San Francisco-based funk, soul, and blues band, will perform over at Second Act.
With them will be Susto, an alt-country solo artist from South Carolina touring in support of his brand new full-length release. He's described as "a crisp and bitter hallucinatory diatribe that’s part Steve Earle, part Neil Young & Crazy Horse.""The group drives its deep-pocket, stripped-down grooves with punchy brass and intricate guitar phrases, while locking it in with funk and soul rhythms. The result is a combination of polished, tight, original arrangements accentuated by improvised solos and frequent guest vocals from Bay Area vocalists and MCs. The influence of artists such as Maceo Parker, Trombone Shorty, Tower of Power, Jimi Hendrix, Jamiroquai, Soulive and Budos Band can all be heard in the groups polished original sound."
The fun starts at 7:30pm, and there's a $5 cover. More info here.
Also tonight, El Metate will be at Milk Bar at 8:30pm. They're described as "instrumental space funk." 8:30pm, $5 cover, more info here.
And finally, don't forget Trax during Pride. Tonight, they'll have Marco Middlesex and DJ Jim Hopkins spinning as part of SF Monarch's Tour de Funds Pink Saturday party. It starts at 9pm, and there's no cover. It wouldn't be Pride without a party at Trax, right?
Stay hydrated, and have a great weekend.
