True Sake Celebrates 11 Years On HayesPhotos: Sim Blakeney
This week rings in True Sake’s 11th year in Hayes Valley. To mark the event, they're throwing themselves a party in celebration of “11 years of preaching the gospel of sake.”
Today between 5pm and 7pm, stop by 560 Hayes for samples of some of the store's favorite sakes, which will be pouring free (and freely).

If you've never gotten a change to check out the store, this is a prime opportunity to stop by, sample some of the goods, and say hello to a longtime Hayes Valley business.

If you taste something you like, keep in mind that all of their sakes will be on 11% off all day today. And if you can’t make it to the party, the same discount will be available for online purchases today.

After today, True Sake has an even bigger event on the way, with the ninth annual Sake Day coming up on Saturday September 27th.

Presented by True Sake, more than 100 different sakes will be available to sample at the event, which takes place at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center in Japantown. At the event, you'll be able to chat with sake makers from Japan, enjoy snacks and pick up rare sakes and other brewer goods in a silent auction.

We've heard that the event sells out every year, so grab your ticket now if you're interested. All the profits from the event will be going to the JCCCNC, so there really is no downside.

And if you're not yet convinced, even more reason to get down to True Sake tonight to try some sake on for size.
