The Western Addition version of Sunday Streets is just a few weeks away, and you can have a say in making it a success.
For the unfamiliar, Sunday Streets is an event in which several blocks of city streets are closed to auto traffic and filled with activities, music, vendors and other fun family-friendly attractions. The event takes place in a different part of the city roughly once a month, from March to October. Sunday, September 14th is Western Addition's turn, from 11am to 4pm.
The route stretches from Fillmore and Geary, down Fillmore to Fulton, west on Fulton all the way to Baker, then wiggling toward the Panhandle, ending at Hayes and Central:

(If you're wondering why there's never a Sunday Streets Haight edition, the event typically avoids closing streets that would require expensive Muni re-routes.)
The organizers of the upcoming Western Addition version are holding three community meetings to solicit any last-minute ideas or concerns. They're taking place:
- Wednesday August 20th (tonight), 6pm - 7pm, at the Western Addition Senior Citizens center, 1390 1/2 Turk
- Monday August 25th, 6pm - 7pm, at the Western Addition Family Resource Center at 1426 Fillmore #303
- Wednesday September 10th, 6pm - 7pm, at the Western Addition Senior Citizens center
