There's  lot going on this weekend, even when you look past basic Outside Lands survival and the panicky flight from public transit that comes with it.
First, in the retail realm, it looks like the Tibetan Gift Corner is well on its way to opening the new location at Haight and Belvedere, one hot half-block from its first location. The plan, as noted previously, is to keep both shops open, and the new storefront is already full of clothes, some jewelry, and scary wooden masks.

You may also have noticed that Happy High Herbs has revamped its shocking yellow paint job with something a little more subdued and purple-hazy.

Speaking of purple haze, it was recently announced by CBS that this year's Outside Lands will also mark the debut of new United States Postal Service stamps featuring our lady of the Haight, Janis Joplin.

In semi-related news, we bid a fond farewell to Alexander Shulgin, the gentleman whose recipe for MDMA has been getting the party started for decades.

In events, tonight at 6:30pm, the de Young is hosting a filming of the Rocky Horror Picture Show as an installation of its Friday Nights series. The screening is to be accompanied by a costume contest.

Tonight at 9pm, Milk Bar will be hosting an after-Outside Lands show with Silver Hands: tickets are $5 or free with RSVP.

And finally, if you're planning ahead for the little guys,  children's musician Randy Kaplan will be in-store at Tantrum for a concert next Saturday, August 16th. Tickets are $6-8, and the events runs 6:30-7:30pm (858 Cole Street).
