Happy Saturday, Hoodline readers!
While you're savoring one of our jealousy-inducing warm fall weekends, take a moment to catch up on the local news with some leftovers from the week that was. We're talking green chile, gas stations, homemade ice cream, and more. Get it:
- SFPD's Park Station is holding a community meeting this coming Tuesday, October 14th from 6pm-7:30pm at 1899 Waller Street. Head on over to hear the latest in local crime and to raise any issues that concern you. We'll be there asking about the drive-by shooting on Golden Gate and Broderick, and the recent attacks on cyclists in the Panhandle.
- Gas stations in SF are reported to be dwindling at an alarming rate. Have you noticed an increase in line length at the local Arco, 76, or Shell? We're curious if we're getting more motorist traffic.
- Everyone's favorite (okay, well only) neighborhood New Mexican restaurant Green Chile Kitchen is spreading its wings and expanding to San Rafael. Fun fact? We also recently learned that running traditional New Mexican restaurants is a family business—owner Ted Razatos has a brother Leonard who runs The Plaza Cafe in Santa Fe, and a third brother named Andy runs La Panza Café in Portland.
- A number of local businesses around SF are competing for the Mission Main Street Grants from Chase, including our very own San Francisco Skate Club. Help this great organization receive $150,000 for future projects and art shows by voting here!
- Wine Kitchen has started making its own ice cream, and the first flavor up is Apple Creme Fraiche. Stop in and find out what wine pairs best with ice cream.
- NOW! Festival is holding a fundraiser for its next event. Swing by The Fishbowl Bar & Grill at 1854 Divisadero Street on Thursday October 16th starting at 7pm. A portion of proceeds from purchased drinks will be donated to the cause.
Have a good (and safe) weekend!
