Easy Breezy Frozen Yogurt En Route To The Castro

By Roy - Published on December 22, 2014.
Easy Breezy Frozen Yogurt, a locally-owned frozen yogurt shop with locations in Noe Valley and the Inner Sunset, has revealed that it's taking over the former Frapez smoothie space at 4029 18th Street. That address has been shuttered for the past several months with no movement as of late, despite a sign in the window indicating that it's undergoing a remodel.
Easy Breezy offers self-serve frozen yogurt and custards with a selection of non-dairy yogurts that are all blended from natural ingredients in-house. The shop uses a yogurt base from Socially Responsible foods in Southern California, and mixes in fruits and other locally-sourced ingredients to create its yogurt menu.
We spoke with owner Ariel Ford who runs Easy Breezy with her husband Durand. Ford told Hoodline that she and her husband are very excited to open their next shop in the Castro and are confident that a frozen yogurt shop will do well in the neighborhood. The couple have been Castro residents for 12 years, and have been watching the neighborhood transform with the Castro Streetscape Improvement Project.
"We're really excited about the new construction. We're looking forward to being a part of the Castro," said Ford.
The couple's other two locations are open till 10pm, but Ford mentioned that with the nightlife being what it is in the Castro, they would be interested in keeping the 18th Street location open later. Ford told Hoodline that the couple expects the new shop to open by March 2015.
