As multiple tipsters have noted, Andy's Chinese Cuisine on 9th Avenue between Irving and Judah has closed its doors.
Last week, tipster Rupert C. noted a sign in the restaurant's window stating that, after 25 years, the owner has decided to retire. Noted man-about-Sunset Greg Dewar also caught wind of the news:
So someone just told me Andy's Chinese closed as the owner has retired. Definitely surprising...

Andy's Chinese's phone number is disconnected, and it seems that fans of the restaurant's walnut prawns and fried rice will have to call elsewhere for local Chinese food delivery.
Back in 2013, the Andy's Chinese Cuisine location on Polk and Union closed its doors, citing lease issues. However, it's unclear whether that space was under the same ownership as the 9th Avenue location. A South San Francisco restaurant by the name of "Andy's Chinese Restaurant" is not affiliated with the Inner Sunset spot.
For now, there's no word on what might replace the longstanding Chinese restaurant, but we'll keep you posted.
