This weekend, we offer you a collection of news tidbits from last week along with assorted upcoming events.
First, it's been a big week for retail shuffles and eatery changes on the street, but we have even more in store.
People's Cafe is on the market for $150K, or as a $13K-per-month lease, according to this Loopnet listing. The storefront at 1419 Haight had been on the market since last November at $295K, but the updated version is for the business only: the building isn't expected to change hands. People's Cafe has been open since its refurnishing on the heels of a fire that kept the space out of commission from 2011 to 2012.
It also turns out that the space formerly known as Sway, at 1573 Haight, will be getting another long-time retailer from elsewhere on Haight. The Love of Ganesha appears to be moving in promptly. [Update: it had not previously been in that location, thanks @LiquidXperience. It had been occupied by Genesis and previously Planetweavers.]
On the arts-and-living front, you may have noticed some additions to the little cityscape mural at Distractions, 1552 Haight. The additions include a zeppelin and an early motor car full of people, and were being added as of Friday morning.

Previous iteration, via SF Mural Arts.
What you might not have known is that the artist of the additions is David Wills, a local resident and established artist who among other things illustrated the first-ever Haight Ashbury Street Fair poster back in 1978. Wills has other art around the 'hood, including a mural on the side of a house on Cole St. north of the Panhandle.
If you're looking to get out of the house for a reason other than going to the park this weekend, there's going to be live music at Amoeba and Milk Bar.
Amoeba's free in-store shows this weekend feature Fashawn, at 4 this afternoon. Milk Bar is hosting Adam Stern tonight at 8 pm ($8) and bluegrass on Sunday (free).
Other than that, the weather's looking much yummier. Don't forget to reapply that sunscreen and stay hydrated!
