Periodically, Hoodline will round up some recent crimes and injuries in the Financial District and North Beach areas. Though not meant to be comprehensive, it should serve as a brief snapshot of recent activity to help locals stay informed. We'll also occasionally include snippets from SFPD Central Station Capt. David Lazar's newsletter.
This week, Capt. Lazar wrote that the Police Commission voted on April 15th to approve the plan for new boundaries for the 10 district police stations. "We, in the Central District, will be expanding our boundary to include Powell Street, South to #1 Powell, including the streets that run East from Powell, O’Farrell and Ellis to Grant," he wrote.
"In addition, we pick up Market Street, including both sides from 3rd Street to the Ferry Building and then south one block to Mission, excluding Mission. We should see this change within 60 to 90 days as the Department of Emergency Management updates the addresses in the Computer Assisted Dispatch system."
He also provided a quick and easy list of crime definitions, listed out some recent crimes of note in the district, and discussed some recent outstanding police work by by Officers Scott Korte and Robert Duffield, who arrested a bicycle thief. The full newsletter is online.
