Urban Air Market, a "curated outdoor marketplace for sustainable design," will kick off the season with its first event this Sunday, May 3 in Hayes Valley from 11am until 6pm.

The popular, free event is the largest outdoor design festival in the country and features apparel, kids products and home decor from designers based in the Bay Area.

With all the great weather we've been having, you can bet this Sunday's event is going to be packed. And since Mother's Day is just a week away, Urban Air Market is pulling out all the stops – SF Etsy will be out offering free gift wrap for Mother's Day presents, Das Bus is hosting a photo booth in their VW bus, and Casey's, Minnie Bell's, and J-Shack food trucks will be out thanks to a partnership with Proxy. The marketplace's sustainability focus remains deep, even as hair salon Taylor Monroe works their hair magic without electricity.

Some featured artists set to be at the Hayes Valley event on Sunday include Sojourn Box, Mafia Bags, Haus of Metal, and Coffee N Cream Press. As always, enjoy a list of sustainable artists (curated specifically for this year's Earth Day on the Urban Air Marketplace blog) before hitting the pavement.

The majority of the 130 artists showcased at this season's Urban Air Market will be from the Bay Area, with a sprinkling of appearances from artists based in Los Angeles and Portland. Guests will also be invited to hear performances from Foxtails Brigade and The Willy Roland, or view the live art installation from 1am Gallery, who will be recreating the Urban Air Market sign.

In addition to the marketplace, this Sunday's event will also host a Spring Wellness Pop Up in Patricia's Green that includes aromatherapy with Organic Devotion, massage from KneadNetwork, chiropractic with Life Chiropractic and yoga with Yoga Tree. Yoga Tree will also be offering two free classes at 12:30pm and 2pm on Sunday – just remember your mat.

For ten years, the Urban Air Market has introduced locals to sustainable goods and art through their outdoor events. This is the first year that they've launched in the East and South Bay, with events scheduled through October in Berkeley, Oakland and Marin. For the first time in 10 years, Urban Air Marketplace expanded outside of San Francisco last year with a market hosted in Portland.

If you can't make this Sunday's affair, check out the long list of upcoming events expected to hit the Bay Area through October.
