With summer in full swing, Hayes Valley has plenty of small stories and bits of news that don't necessarily merit a full article, but are important to mention regardless. Here are a few upcoming events and neighborhood happenings to keep your social life up and running.

  • Azalea has begun celebrating Third Thursdays. Each month, the boutique will offer libations and 15 percent off storewide on the third Thursday of the month, from 5-7pm. If you're turning to your calendar, no need—the third Thursday of June is today. Head over to 411 Hayes St. to pay a visit and grab a drink.
  • Makeshift Society (which recently made a list of the 100 best coworking spaces in the country) is putting a call out for workshop teachers. As a reminder, some of the workshops the space has hosted in the past include Patterned Notebooks; Social Media for Creatives; and Pom Poms, Mobiles & Wall Hangings. Got an idea for a workshop you could teach? Email info [at] makeshiftsociety [dot] com.
  • Reminder! Father's Day is this Sunday, June 21st. If you're stumped on gift ideas, head over to Gather, where they've curated a gift guide just for dad. And if you're in need of the perfect card, Lavish has a good selection, but act fast: they may sell out.
  • Jules Maeght Gallery has a long-running show this summer, and it's worth a visit. Inside Out features two distinct bodies of work. Photographer Janet Delaney is exhibiting in the front of the gallery, with 30 color prints of New York City street life in the 1980s. The back half of the gallery is reserved for rare candid portraits of famous artists, such as Calder, Miró, Giacometti and Léger. The show runs until September 12th.
  • If you're an experienced barista looking for work, head on over to Ritual Coffee Roasters. The coffee shop's location at PROXY is hiring for an experienced full-time Coffee Bar Manager. More info and a complete job description can be found here.
  • Speaking of PROXY, they'll be hosting a Mario Kart Party on Tuesday June 23rd to help raise funds for their new Kickstarter. Games will start at 8:45pm, and will run until around 10pm. Backers of the campaign get first dibs on players and karts, so if you're picky about your combo, make sure you donate before you arrive.
  • And mark your calendars for next Thursday June 25th, when Warby Parker will be hosting a Beatnik Shindig event, with live music, specialty cocktails, and typewriters.
