The owner of 4 Embarcadero's popular Mediterranean restaurant Sens is opening a new Mediterranean concept, called Barcha, this summer. It'll be located at 28 Fremont St. in the 425 Market Street building.
Kais Bouzidi, Sens' owner, has filed for a Type 41 beer and wine license, and said he expects to open Barcha in September for lunch, happy hour and dinner. The restaurant will also offer outdoor seating and catering.

Bouzidi said Barcha will also have a Mediterranean menu. Photos posted on Instagram show meat skewers, falafel and fresh bread. The Sens crew is also testing out some of the planned dishes for Barcha as specials at Sens, including a burrata dish with herbs and capers.

Sens, which made its debut in October 2007, has been a big draw for FiDi folks, thanks to its popular happy hour. Running from 3pm-8pm, it features a shared plates menu and elevated patio seating with sweet views of the Ferry Building and Bay.
We'll keep you posted with more details on Barcha as they emerge, including an opening date.
