The 38th annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair is done and dusted, and though yesterday's festivities appeared to be tamer than previous installments, there were still some quintessentially Haight moments.

There was this charming dispatch from the Cole Valley, a Not-So-Secret SF Neighborhood group on Facebook, courtesy of Steve H.:

"Annual Haight St. Fair today. Mostly avoided by locals nowadays. But then there was this fine fellow, sitting in his doorway, selling shots of fine whiskey with a sugared shot glass rim and slice of organic peach, and when you drank it, he clapped his hands very enthusiastically and yelled "Namaste! Golden energy!" He provided me a shot of faith — for $2."
There was even a high-fiving Jesus!

SFPD was on hand, and tweeting about it:
Hello, Sgt. Ron Meyer and I are here at the Haight Street Fair monitoring and making sure it will be a good day! pic.twitter.com/cgaLeHjqj5

And so was the library:

Did you see the beatboxing guy? He drew a crazy crowd around 2pm.

And, of course, it wouldn't be the Street Fair without the haters.
The street fair is everything I hate about Haight street x1000.

leaving the country to avoid the Haight Street Fair might seem extreme, but really its just far enough.

Did you brave the crowds? Did it seem tamer this year? Tell us what you saw in the comments.
