Two of the mature ash trees at 201 Spear St. (at Howard) were trimmed this morning, because the canopy was overhanging the street and the tops of semitrucks were hitting them. A large pile of branches was collected below. The trees were two of 10 that the property owner wanted to remove, but neighbors fought to save them and won.
