Inner Sunset Crime: Two Armed Robberies, Woman Bashed With SuitcasePhoto: Paul Sullivan/Flickr

Cole Valley and the Inner Sunset are more likely to see crimes against property than people, but the area has seen two armed robberies and a street assault in recent days.

On July 22nd at 9:56pm, officers from Park Station responded to a call near 7th Avenue and Hugo Street where a woman was reportedly screaming. After determining that an armed robbery had just taken place, SFPD searched the area for the suspect. The incident is still being looked into, but investigators found a gun near the scene that is believed to have been left behind by the robber.

Just after 11pm on August 1st, a woman at 9th Avenue and Judah Street was struck with a suitcase by an assailant who approached her from behind, according to the SFPD. The victim lost consciousness and was transported to the hospital with a bump on the head; police from Taraval Station are still seeking the perpetrator.

On August 2nd, police responded to an armed robbery report on the 100 block of Parnassus Avenue at 11:22pm. According to a store employee, a customer brandished a silver handgun and demanded money from the register while making a purchase. The victim complied before the suspect fled the scene with currency and a candy bar.

Shifting from violent crime to traffic enforcement, we have news that Park Station has added a radar trailer on Carl Street between Willard and Hillway. An electronic sign shows drivers their speed; Hoodline can attest that SFPD officers have been writing citations for drivers who fail to heed.
