Write About Your Neighborhood With HoodlinePhoto: Josef Willems/Flickr

Is there a particular topic you want to explore—maybe about an interesting local person, group or business that you know of, a neighborhood issue that you've always wanted to dig into, or a surprising piece of San Francisco history that you’ve come across?

Let’s talk.

There’s a lot of local news to cover. But fewer and fewer people and publications are writing about what’s going on around you.

At Hoodline, you can help a broad cross section of your neighbors find out about new places to go, people to meet, or causes to get involved with. You’ll also get professional writing experience (and payment). There's no professional writing experience required, and we'll help you with story ideas and editing, but you will need a healthy curiosity about your neighborhood. We are by and for people from all walks of life, so don't be afraid to see if this is right for you.

Follow this link to share more about yourself, including the first three story ideas you would like to work on (if you have them). Be sure to include any questions you have as well.

We are particularly interested in talking with people who can write regularly about Divisadero, Hayes Valley, the Financial District and SoMa.
