Hayes Valley is a popular location for commercial (and Mormon-oriented) shoots, probably due to its retail-friendly ambiance and leafy European vibe. Tomorrow, Sept. 17th, the neighborhood will play host to an all-day shoot for an AT&T commercial, which will utilize—but hopefully not disrupt—multiple streets and sites from roughly 8am to 10pm.

"The scenes we will be filming are all lifestyle scenes featuring the great architecture and ambiance Hayes Valley offers," reads the filming notification, which specifies the following locations where filming will take place:

  • Rand + Statler (425 Hayes)
  • Live Fit Gym (301 Fell)
  • Momi Toby's (528 Laguna)
  • "Various sidewalk scenes on Fell, Laguna, Octavia and Hayes"

The notification promises that "all merchants and residents will have access into and out of the area."

We've put a call in to location manager Jof Hanwright for additional information, and will update this story if there's more locals should know about what's being planned for tomorrow.

Update: Hanwright let us know that they'll be shooting at Alta Plaza Park in the morning, then heading to Hayes Valley. "Hayes is cool!" he said. "It's such a great neighborhood, there's just so much personality."

Hanwright said that they are working with Proxy and made a donation to the walk-in movie theater project in exchange for using some space at Hayes and Octavia to serve as  staging area for the day.

"If anyone wants to stop by tomorrow, I'll be there and happy to answer any questions," Hanwright told us.
