On the crime and safety front, CBS San Francisco pointed out this week that the city is littered with public and private surveillance cameras, and more than 3,000 private cameras can be found in the Tenderloin alone. Check out the city's crowdsourced map of camera locations here.
Calling all local actors: The annual San Francisco Olympians Festival returns to the Exit Theater this November, and open auditions will be held Monday, Sept. 28th and Tuesday, Sept. 29th. Hosted by the indie theater troupe No Nude Men Productions, the festival features 30 new plays by local writers, "each one drawing inspiration from the ancient Greek legends about the sea."
And don't forget that the Prototyping Festival returns to Central Market this Sunday. From Sixth to Seventh streets, you'll find favorite prototypes from April's event—including a ping-pong table, exercise course and spinning bench—for the next month.

His work on the reeds is deep in the tradition of harmonica masters Sonny Boy Williamson II and Little Walter Jacobs, while at the same time pushing that tradition forward with his unforgettable original songs. And his hipster, street-smart vocals are the perfect vehicle for driving those songs home."
