Two senior citizens were hospitalized around 1:30pm yesterday afternoon, after a woman attempted to light them on fire on the edge of Union Square and the Tenderloin.

According to police, the female victims, 72 and 74, were at Cyril Magnin and Eddy streets when the suspect, 30-35, lit a match on fire behind them, allegedly in an attempt to set them aflame. The match failed to make contact with either victim, but the suspect subsequently pushed both of them into the street.

One victim received a laceration to the head and the other suffered a fractured elbow; both were transported to the hospital.

No arrest has been made. We'll update this story if and when we hear more.
