The city is slowly emptying out as folks leave for the holidays, and if you're sticking around, that's a good thing. Parking spots are becoming more available, lines to get coffee in the morning are shorter, and you might even be able to get that restaurant reservation you've been hoping for.
In local news, art activist and community mover and shaker Madeline Behrens-Brigham is leaving town for good shortly after Christmas. If you've met her over the years and want to say goodbye, there's a party happening this evening in her honor. Head over to Noir Lounge between 5-7pm to wish her the best on her journey.
Speaking of Madeline, the Hayes Valley art gallery pop-up that she organizes every year will keep its doors open until tomorrow (and perhaps for a day or two afterward). If you're looking for a unique last-minute holiday gift, head over to PROXY to check out work by local artists.
And if you're looking to fill up your end-of-year events calendar, several Hayes Valley institutions are still going strong through the end of the year. Here's a sample of what's on tap:
Remember, if you're got an upcoming event you'd like to share with Hoodline, let us know here. Oh, and happy holidays, Hayes Valleyians!
