Ha Nam Ninh, the Tenderloin Vietnamese restaurant whose sorry plight the Chronicle highlights today, has had to close once again, due to its disintegrating ceiling.
Located at 701 Larkin St., underneath the Marathon SRO hotel, Ha Nam Ninh previously closed for three months for repairs, during which time the restaurant's owners were still charged full rent. An astronomical rent increase has put the screws to business owner Muoi Au and her family, as well as many of the other Vietnamese restaurants that form a Tenderloin cultural hub.
